Today’s guest post comes from a seriously gorgeous blogger and friend, Nicole! She’s got probably the best fashion sense on the planet and I wouldn’t mind living in her closet…as long as she shared her coffee (cause we both know without it, life’s just not possible.)
Her blog is probably one of the neatest, cutest and best layed-out blogs I’ve ever seen and she’s got a YouTube channel! I highly suggest checking both out and subscribing, she’s wonderful. I know all you women out there will definitely enjoy this post – and men, I won’t judge if you do, too. It’s called a guilty pleasure, I understand
My nail care routine
1. The very first thing I do is remove any old polish with nail polish remover. I am not a dedicated user of any one particular brand of polish, but lately I’ve been using the Cutex Strengthening Acetone nail polish remover.
2. After taking off the polish, I use my current favorite product: Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover. This stuff works like magic. I squeeze a small amount on each cuticle. After about 15 seconds, I use my Revlon cuticle pusher and gently push back my cuticles. You will notice that the cuticles stuck on your nails will actually wipe away.
3. Next, I take my Tweezerman cuticle nipper and carefully trim any leftover cuticles. Some people say to not cut your cuticles, because it can cause infection. I’ve been cutting my cuticles for over a year, and have had no problems. Choose whether you want to cut or just push them back. It is your decision.
4. Last, I will use a strengthening polish to harden my nails. I have extremely weak, brittle, nails so I am always looking for a good hardening polish. Currently, I am using Essie “Grow Stronger.” It is a very light sheer color with a pinkish stain. I use this when I am not in the mood to put a lot of color on my nails, but I want a gloss.
I am not a nail technician by any means, but these are the steps that I take to treat my nails. I am not being sponsored by any of the brands mentioned, nor have I received any of the products above for free.
Do you have a nail care routine?
