Hi friends and happy Friday! So, I’ve been wanting to discuss something that had been on my mind for months as I’ve been getting more serious about my strength training and my dedication to fitness. It’s been a really long time since I’ve had an actual goal in regards to anything fitness related (besides getting stronger, but that goes without saying…) So, a couple of weeks ago I started looking into possibly training for a figure competition and decided that it’d be a good thing for me to work towards. I also looked into personal trainers, as I think that it’s best to train for these types of things with professional guidance.
I’ve been asked a lot recently to post my workouts on my blog – and if you’re curious as to why I haven’t – that’s why. I hired a personal trainer that meets with me 1-2 times a week and develops workouts and a nutritional plan for me in preparation for my goal, and to help me ultimately build more muscle. I don’t feel it’d be fair for my trainer OR my wallet (ha) to be posting said workouts online. I have started working most weekends now back at Whole Foods in addition to my Monday through Friday full time job to help pay for everything. I’m gonna be a busy bee, but I know what I want and I’m gonna go for it. It’s been working out for me so far, and I’m still able to balance work, workouts and spending time with the people I love…which is so wonderful. Somedays I get stressed out, but I have to remind myself that God has a purpose for me and I want to fulfill it by living the best life that I can and always appreciating every moment. Life isn’t always going to be rainbows & butterflies – I know that0 but I can learn from difficult times and move past as a stronger person.
God has blessed me with some great pals It’s definitely important for me to factor in social time along with my work schedule and workouts to keep me grounded and always content.
Going forward, I will be blogging more about my workouts and what is working for me along the journey, just not laying out an entire workout unless I feel the need to. Plus, I’m not certified to give any kind of professional advice, I can only offer my learning experiences and I hope that’s enough.
Weekend meal prep = my new best friend.
I am SUPER pumped to be doing this and I can’t wait to share the journey with y’all! My workouts have gotten progressively harder and thanks to my trainer, I definitely feel the burn…every workout.
There has been several times so far in a few of my workouts where some noises came out of my mouth that I never knew I could produce…how exotic! I think the one thing I’ve learned so far is the good fire is in those last few reps and you really have to dig deep to push them out. That’s when the fun stuff happens and you rightfully disturb people with the faces and sounds you make. Also, DOMS after leg day have me teaching myself how to walk again. Crawling isn’t acceptable in public when you’re over the age of two, apparently.
Make sure you follow me on Instagram if you don’t already @megmo7
Also, just a side note: I spoke to Danielle at Fitfluential and the winners of the Designer Whey giveaway will be receiving their protein in October…thanks for the patience! I’ve gotten a few questions about that.
Peace and love!
